The February 28 Incident was a major event that occurred in Taiwan's recent history. This is the first 228 Memorial Park in southern Taiwan (Chiayi, Yunlin, Nantou) that symbolizes the integration of different ethic groups. The planning and construction took over two years, finally 49 years after the February 28 Incident that occurred in 1947, the park was completed and opened on February 28, 1996, serving as a memorial and remembrance of the grief.
